Pteranodon

The Pteranodon was a flyer. It was a fish eater with no teeth. It would fly over the water then dive down and catch a fish.

It lived about 65 million years ago.

It had a huge claws on it's feet but it did not use them for catching fish.

It had raw-hidey wing skin. It's wings were attached to it's hands and legs.

It had a huge crest on it's head used for balance during flight. It also was used to impress the females.

It flew in air currents. It lived on rocky cliffs near ponds and oceans because that was where the fish lived. They lived on the cliffs because they couldn't get good air from the ground. On the cliffs they picked up air currents that could carry them a long ways.

Gabe out!
