Duck Bills

The duck bill family, Hadrosaurs, is very interesting. It makes me go quackers! Each one in this family of dinosaurs has a crest. Scientists think Parasaurolophus might have used his crest for snorkeling and sounds. It might have helped him have a better keen sense of smell. It might have also helped the males in finding a girlfriend.

This dinosaur has a bill like a duck with many, many teeth for eating plants. He actually chewed his food! He constantly lost teeth; but, they were always replaced by new ones.

Duck bills had a stiff tail that kept it from swinging back and forth. His tail was used for balance. I'm sure it helped him when he stood on 2 feet or all 4 feet.

Gabe signing out!
