This is a blog written by Gabriel Wallen about dinosaurs. You know, those awesome creatures that lived 65 million years ago on Earth. I am learning about a new dinosaur each day and thought I would blog it for you to learn about, too! I am only 8 years old; so, Mom is helping me with this project by typing in my words.

Stegosaurus
Stegosaurus was tall as 1 and a half men and long as a house. It had plates on it's back and spikes on it's tail. They believed the spikes on it's tail might have been used in defense. The plates could have been used for temperature regulation keeping it cold or warm. It could have pumped blood into the plates which helped intimidate predators or attract a mate.
It had a very small brain the size of a walnut. It might have had a second brain at the base of it's back bone for controlling it's tail. Paleontologists believe it might have just been a bundle of nerves; but, they are not sure.
Stegosaurus was a plant eater so it was an herbivore. It ate plants down low on the ground. It could only walk about 4 miles an hour because it's legs were so short.
